Leadership and Conflict: For the Peace from Above…
Fr. John Mefrige
This workshop is designed to empower our pastoral and lay leaders to respond to conflict in a way that is markedly different – a way that harnesses the creative powers of conflict and is grounded in scriptural concepts of reconciliation and accountability. We will be providing a highly practical resource for the common conflicts that all leaders face which will help lay the foundation needed to foster and sustain a culture of peace within their church.
From Baptist to Bosnia to Byzantium

The Diocese of Wichita and Mid-America has committed itself to a “Sister Diocese” relationship with the Archdiocese of Bosra-Hauran in Syria as a gesture of Christian love and support for Metropolitan SABA and his flock. The Christians of this diocese, descended from those converted by St. Timon, face economic hardship as a result of wars and occupation of its territory. Fr. Richard will discuss DOWAMA’s efforts to support our brothers and sisters in Basra-Hauran as well as the 2010 College Mission Trip.

We live in a time when the sacred has been exterminated. Not only do we live in a secular society, but most of us have become functional atheists living our lives Monday through Friday without God. Is there anything left to believe in? Join us as we confront the question and hear the thrilling answer!

Behold your Mother
Fr. John Flora
In this workshop we will explore the history of Marian Doctrine and Devotion in the Orthodox East and West. Particular attention will be given to the liturgical expression of the Church’s veneration of the Theotokos and popular devotional practices which are part of an Orthodox Christian’s life of prayer. We will also explore some ways in which we can express our faith in the intercessions of Mary to those who regard such views as outside the norms of biblical teaching.
